Does anyone have any idea for a name for this drink? It's just too delicious to stay anonymous.
I was going to make frozen margaritas, but the grocery store was out of limeade. I find the Bacardi-brand frozen concentrate made for margaritas is too sweet, so on impulse I bought some Apple-Strawberry-Kiwi juice concentrate and used rum instead of tequilla. I kept the Grand Marnier from the original recipe, though. It was an inspired choice. The rum gives the drink a caramel undertone and the Grand Marnier cuts the sweetness of the juice. So good! Until these have a name, they're Whatchamacallits.
Whatchamacallits
3/4 cup (half a carton) frozen Apple-Strawberry-Kiwi juice concentrate
3/4 cup white rum
1/4 cup Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur (triple sec, CuraƧao, etc.)
ice
Spoon the juice concentrate into a blender jar. Add rum and Grand Marnier. Fill to the top with ice. Blend.
Makes 4 cups.
Whatchamacallits is perfect... unless you call them pink whatchamacallits. That way when you make some with frozen honeydews, it can be green whatchamacallits. And when you make them with Mango, they can be orange whatchamacallits!
